“Muskogee is a place that is home to so many, including mine. Downtown Muskogee is the heart of that home. With so many people’s life-long memories taking place here. These could be from attending a downtown event, shopping at a local business, enjoying a meal with friends and family, and more. These activities should be celebrated and cherished. Our role should be to give back to the community that has been there for us.”

— Courtney Graham, Executive Director

The Main Street Approach

A Roadmap for Your Community

The Main Street Approach™ offers community-based revitalization initiatives with a practical, adaptable framework for downtown transformation that is easily tailored to local conditions. The Main Street Approach helps communities get started with revitalization and grows with them over time.

The Fundamentals

The Main Street Approach is centered around Transformation Strategies. A Transformation Strategy articulates a focused, deliberate path to revitalizing or strengthening a downtown or commercial district’s economy. Each Transformation Strategy is implemented through activities in the four broad areas of work represented by the Four Points: Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization.

Main Street Muskogee adopted the Transformation Strategies Report on August 2, 2024. This report will guide our organizations work for the next 3-5 years.
